HISTORY OF the Mt. Baker Hotel
Originally built in 1924, the Mount Baker Hotel was constructed for rooming for the dam construction workers as they were building the Lower Baker Dam. Ever since it’s building in 1924 it has served multiple purposes over the years. This includes; a rooming house, a hotel, liquor store, cafe, barber shop, office building, and at times apartments. During the automobile transportation days, it was a bus stop for the Ben Solomon stage lines.
